High Five for Spring Break!

1. Hubs and I went to the football banquet this past weekend and wished the seniors off well.
2. Made this pretty lil' thang this week, and I'm lovin' it!
3. I finally made some time for new bright workout pieces!
4. The pups got a bath this week... which means no outdoors for a few days so they stay clean... which means they've been entertaining themselves indoors quite effectively.
5. (not pictured) Spring break officially begins at the end of today!!!!! WAHOOOOO!

I'm linking up today with Lauren at From My Grey Desk for a H54F!

My Purse's Makeover!

As I told you all on Monday, hubs and I had a field day thrifting this past weekend!  One of my fave finds was this soft leather purse!! I knew it would go great with the material I wanted to use, as pictured above.

Lots of ironing edges, cutting, tracing, and gluing later... I am completely satisfied with my new revamped purse!

Family Rambles

The other day I was in the grocery store talking to my Pops on the phone... and as I hung up, I said, "okay... talk to you later Dad. LOVE YOU"... ya know.. the usual ending to a phone call with your parents. Suddenly, an older lady walks up to me and says, "I am so happy you talk to your father on the phone, and with such great respect."

First thought... BUSINESS!! This lady was ear hustlin'! Then she proceeded to say, "I'm 55 years old, and my parents are 88 and 89. I still call them and still respect them. And guess what... if they wanted to they would STILL whoop me if I ever disrespected them!"

Caught my attention! WHY? ... Welp, besides her talking to me like we were friends, it was because I can soooo relate to her! Growing up as a Pacific Islander and having the parents I have, I grew up with the utmost respect for my elders and family. Things have changed... and the woman in the grocery store agreed. Kids can be sooo bratty with their parents... defying and lying to them, going to extremes in school, not calling them just to say HI! I'm not saying I was an angel child, but what I am saying is that I have never disrespected them!

Hang onto that respect with your parents, with your grandparents, with your elders. You may not agree with them all the time, but that doesn't give us the right to respect them any less.

After all, family is E V E R Y T H I N G!

GREEN and Sassy

Happy day after St. Patty's Day to you all!! Hope you had a great time celebrating the luck of the Irish, and hope you guys aren't hurting too much today (if you indulged in a beer... or two... or more). Just wanted to spread some love to you all by sharing some of my very limited green attire! Mint green counts, right??

And just because I've been gettin' sassy pants widdit, here's where I'm feelin' the inner photo shoot coming out in me!

This is honestly the only green item I have in my closet that I wear now-a-days. Makes me think I need to shop more for mints because I love how it looks paired with gold!

Welp, until that day comes where I have limitless green clothes, I'll share what I do have... my LLL's of the week....

LOVE
I love all the fun things hubs and I snatched while thrifting this weekend!! I've been having a blast with some arts and craft thangs, so beware... show and tell comin' up!

LEARN
I learned that FAITH is what determines whether we have the patience or not to trust in God's work and plan for us.

LAUGH
I laughed at a convo I had with my BFF, talking a million words a minute... telling her my emotions have been up and down lately, feeling hot and cold at times like I was Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, but that day I was feeling particularly good, and without the bad's there wouldn't be as glorious goods, but I'm so grateful of the blessings  I do have in life.... and when I finally paused to catch my breath, she asked me, "So which Bev am I speaking with NOW??" That caused me to slow down for sure, while I laughed at the fact that she even caught what I was saying! Gotta love our BFF's!!

Come and FOLLOW!

I know a ton of you know this by now, but they just announced that Google Reader will no longer be with us as of July 1st this year! RIP Google Reader.... it was great to utilize you while you were here, and you will be truly missed!

What does this mean? This means if you are a Google/Gmail follower on a blog, you'll need to eventually transition to Bloglovin'. I have a few easy peasy steps I followed to import my entire reading list from Google Reader to Bloglovin' which added all my peeps in a snap! I suggest you follow along before you keep puttting it to the side, and by July 1st, you'll lose your fave reads!

1.  Sign onto Bloglovin' and on the top right hand corner, click on Settings under the Account menu.

2.  Scroll towards the bottom of the Settings page to the "Other" section, and click on Import blogs. This will import all the blogs you follow on Google Reader to Bloglovin'!

3, 4, & 5.  The rest is a click away!

BOOM!! Your reading list looks just like your Google Reader list on the left hand side. Hope this helps you out! And please don't forget to follow me on Bloglovin' (click on that pink heart under my picture to the right of this page or click here)!

Wrap it up!

Being that hubs and I are (pretend to be) WINE-oh's... we've collected plenty wine bottles and even more wine corks! Gotta start using these puppies up so they're not sitting bland in the corner of our kitchen... on the side of the microwave.

We (yes WE since hubs has been on his Pinterest game) found a cute and simple tutorial on spicing up a wine bottle!

What do you think? Worth covering up your bare naked bottles you collect? I THINK SO!

Call Me Maybe

How many texts do you send and receive a month?... Or am I the only one who fascinates over that huge number when I see it on my cell phone bill? All I can say is... thank you AT&T for UNLIMITED texting! I text so many times a day just cause... good morning texts, good afternoon texts, good night texts, I love and miss you texts, thinking of you texts.... on and on and on. Texting has been uhhhh-mazing in my life, especially just to keep in touch with my fraaaands that are so far away!

As hard as it is to comprehend, there are some people who just don't do texts. Most of which are my older peeps in the family. My Mom, Dad, aunties, uncles.... they certainly receive a text and can reply with an occasional "ok" but I'm not sending them text messages asking how they're doing... how their day's going- kinda thing. These are instances when the phone actually serves it purpose... to dial a number and speak with the other person.

Which makes me think... calling someone to check in with them takes just a few minutes out of your day... a few minutes that you're spending anyway going back and forth in text messages. So why not just pick up the phone and dial that number? Hearing your voice is much more meaningful to our peeps, don't chya' think?

Scarf and Heels

I just can't get over my pink pumped up kicks or my LC Lauren Conrad chambray! The sun has been glistening lately, but it's still in the 50's which means I can still rock a scarf to keep warm. It's a plus that the pink in it is right on point with my pink stellies!

Here's my LLL's of this past week...

LOVE
I love the time I get to spend with my little family (hubs and our doggies). It's not often we have the entire day together, especially because hubs works Mondays through Saturdays, and occasionally goes in Sunday for a few hours. This weekend, we spent the gorg day at the Oregon Coast and let the pups run free in the water while we walked down the shoreline.

LEARN
I learned something again which I haven't put into practice in quite awhile. Ask and you shall receive... when I pray for something, I learned to pray and ask for something specific... not just "good in my life," but whatever it is that I am working towards.

LAUGH
I laughed when my hubs asked me for my log-in information for Pinterest. He downloaded it on his iPad so he can research some DIY ideas, and I caught him searching Men's Fashion.... this guy!!

Needled Necklace

There's something about when peeps compliment on your jewels and you're able to say, "This old thangg?? Oh I made it myself!" I ain't gon' lie... this DIY project didn't stress my fingers or strain my eyes.... BUT it was fun to make, especially because I got more practice using tubular beading tools!

I was able to connect the chain with extra links I cut, so I didn't need an extra clasp. All you essentially need is a chain, any type of statement beads/jewels that catch your eye, and some flat nosed pliers so you can remove the beads and attach them to your chain!

If you missed out on my wired rings, you can catch a glimpse here. I also made a vintage statement necklace I posted here.

What kind of jewels have you been crafting up lately? If not crafting, which ones have you been wearing?

Chop Chop

Happy hump day to you lovies!! I'm celebrating Wednesday by linkup with my gooorl Michelle at The Vintage Apple for some fun pinning on Pinterest!

And inspiration this week for my pins.... HURRRRRR! Let's get real... or let ME get real! I haven't had any scissors come near this head of hair since January of 2012... January 4th, 2012 to be exact!! I remember this day vividly because I was telling my hair stylist, "THIS is the year I'm going to take care of my hair FO REAL... take vitamins... get my hair trimmed every few months..." blahhh blahh blahhhhh! And here I am... March of 2013, and I have YET to get anything chopped!

BUT I have been on my vitamin A-game taking 3 different ones every morning. NOW I need to chop just a few inches off so I can get rid of these grody-brody split ends and keep it healthy! I wanna keep my hair for as long as I can, so I bests hop on the train of hurr werrrrrk!

I have an appointment this week to get a trim, and I don't really have anything major or drastic in mind. I want to keep the length and add some layers! Which leads me to my pins on this fine Oh, How Pinteresting Wednesday!

You KNOW my BFF, Lauren, is on this list!! Her hair is always gorg!!

Wish me luck this week at the hair salon, and I'll fill you guys in with the aftermath! Don't forget to link up with Michelle for an OHP!
