Family Timeeeeeee

Dear Bloggettes... ohhh  how I have missed you so!! I've been spending time with the fam bam since we have been blessed with their presence lately!

We spent a day this weekend at the coast, and it was absolutely one of the best days I've had here in Oregon! Peep game!
Found this place off the side of the road, and Mr. Man makes all of his crafts by hand!! Unbelievable work!
First stop when we parked? CANDY SHOP of course!!
We can hear these lil bundles of joy all the way from our car when we parked! Didn't know we'd be THIS close to em!
Stopped at one of the best parks I've evahhh been to and enjoyed some play time with little brother!
Made it to the actual coast and man... whatta breath of fresh air!
Ended our adventure with some marine life!
And of course, we enjoyed our sweet victory at the OSU vs. Cal game and shut it down!!!!
LOVE my time with the family!! Moments that make me happy and smile from ear to ear!

I had so many chances this weekend to cover my LLL's of the week, so it was a hard one to choose for me today!

LOVE
Of course... I LOVE my family more and more each and every day!

LEARN
Every time my Aunty One comes to visit, I learn to become a more humble woman. There are just some things you have no control over in life, and this weekend I learned to LET GO and LET GOD... a lesson that I continue to learn as each day passes by.

LAUGH
OMG... so this one was tough!! My Uncle Murphy had quite some mishaps this weekend... but the one LAUGH that lasted the entire weekend (and still lasting to this second) is when we stopped at the woodsy craft house (first picture above). Went a lil' something like this:

Uncle Murph: "What's the name of that HUGE tree we saw when we were in New Zealand?? It starts with a 'B'... man what is the name???!?!"

Tyson (his 7 year-old son): "BIG ol' treeeee!!"

Oh em gee... if you could just hear the way Tyson said it... hilarious!! Got Uncle Murph moded!!!

Good fun times, I tell ya! Sooooo, I know a lot of you will be taking a break this week from blogging enjoying some grand ol' family and friends time for Thanksgiving, as I shall be too! If this is the last time you'll be on the computer this weekend reading in my hood, have a happy thanksgiving and please know that I am grateful for you ALL!

More Birthday la la LOVE

Happy Tuesday to all you lovely peeps!! Hope you had a fatabulous weekend, especially if you had yesterday off for Veteran's Day! Our weekend was superb even though Hubs had to work on his birthday yesterday, but it still turned out a success. Mondays are his busiest day, so we didn't get to hang at all. BUT I did get to see his face a few times yesterday. In the morning, he woke up to a room full of balloons...

I took him a pick-me-up from Starbucks and a box of cake pops I made (which were delish I must say!). I made 30 funfetti cake pops with white and dark chocolate and sprinkles...

And we ended the night with din din after he got off from work, which wasn't until 8pm. But HEY! Time I get to see his face is time I cherish, so it was superb!

All the celebrating got me thinking... who makes up the rules as to which birthday years are the "big" ones?? Each year should be a big one, don't you think? Each year is another blessing of life... another chance to make a difference in our world... another opportunity to be in the presence of our families and loved ones. Each birthday is a special and BIG one in my opinion! So celebrate like there's no tomorrow each and every year! Which leads me to another birthday shout out...

Happy birthday to my sweet sister Nadine who has the most honest, true, funny, and caring characteristics than any other woman I know!

How do you celebrate birthdays? Any fun DIY's? Any baking?

Birthday Love

He's the apple of my eye... my best friend for the past 10 years... the man that makes me smile no matter what kind of day I'm having... my companion... my hero. Happy 30th birthday to my sweet dear loving one-of-a-kind Hubs!!!

Though this man deserves the world on a silver platter, I tried as best as I could to spoil this kid over the weekend. For a man who works 7 days a week, well over 40 hours, it was superb to see him relax for his birthday weekend! Catch a glimpse at the festivities!
(From left to right) Wine tasting // Birthday Boots // Yours truly // His & Hers drinks // Dog walking // Cheese please with our wine // Brisk morning walk // Kisses from Moana // Me with the birthday-month boy!
And for my LLL's of the week are a shout out to the birthday boy! LOVE my hubs, LEARNED that my love for him is like fine wine- gets even better as it ages.... LAUGHED with him (at him) as he stumbled across the rocky driveway in his cowboy boots as left wine tasting!

Hope you all had a fantab weekend... especially if you have today off for Veteran's Day (hooorahhh!).

Light at the End of the Tunnel

Wanna know the best part of waking up at 5am every morning (after a splash of coffee of course)? Knowing that it's the beginning of a brand new day! Anything that happened yesterday stays in yesterday. Each morning, I have a chance to make today better than yesterday... and that's motivating enough for me to make the most of each and every day!

  • Don't like a decision you made?
  • Hate what you wore the other day to work/school?
  • Upset that you didn't meet a deadline?
  • Feel bad about saying something you didn't mean to someone?

Don't freight my friends... every day that we are blessed to open up our eyes is a new opportunity to make yourself over however you wish to! I'm not saying to completely disregard the past... it's actually made us stronger in one form or another. What I'm saying is that there is a clear path ahead of you in this road of life... leave the past as a blur. It's not as crystal clear as the here and now, but without it, the picture wouldn't be complete!

I just wanted to share this with you all since I find such comfort, especially lately, in knowing that each day brings new beginnings. So cheers to new beginnings to us all... to graduating, to our relationships, to the new career we begin or the one we already have, and to LIFE!

Election Day!

Happy Election Day!! Today, Americans will determine who the next President of the United States will be. I'm excited, anxious, and nervous to hear who America has voted for. Whomever it ends up being, he has a long road ahead of him in trying to repair the damages we are still suffering from in result of our recent recession. May the odds be ever in his favor!

I wanna share my LLL's with you from the past week since I'm missed out on blogging yesterday!

LOVE
I love football season because it means I get to see my family every other weekend when they come for home games!

LEARN
I was super duper homesick when my family left, which is total downfall of them visiting (but well worth it!). I cried like a little baby when we dropped them off at the airport... but my sweet dear hubs cheered me up in no time! I learned that shopping helps ease the soul when I miss my fam bam... particularly the purchase of his and her iPhone 5's!

LAUGH
When the family is here, we do nothing BUT chukkle our lives away!! And I mean laugh from the gut, throw your head back, cheeks hurt kinda' funny!
What did you love, learn, and laugh about this week?

White Beret... oh heyyyyy!

No trick or treaters for us last night... 2nd year in a row! Wahhhhh... it's one of the best parts of Halloween, especially since we're not home to enjoy the kiddos! Oh welp! More candy and cavaties for me!!

I can't remember the last time I did an outfit post. Mornings have been dress and go... without even thinking of snapping! I'm sure you can all relate. Let's face it... sometimes those bathroom pictures in the mirror just don't make our morning agendas before leaving the house!

The other day, I did manage to snap a few pics from my MacBook. The quality is not all that great.. and that's because I haven't had an AHA! moment yet with the perfect spot... perfect lighting... perfect background in my house! BUT, my quest for that spizzot shall continue. In the meantime, I thought these would do!

I bundled up with my white crocheted beret, white knitted scarf (which I totes made into an infinity scarf, thanks to Pinterest!), navy blue button down top, black leggings, cognac boots with(out) the fur, and my belt! Batta bing, batta boom! An outfit suitable for fall!

Now is it just me, or does wearing a beret totes make you feel like you're in Paris??? Makes me wanna sip on some tea, eat a crumpet and look for Mr. Big on a bridge running around in my big dress made of tulle (told you I've been hooked on SATC lately!). I've never been to Paris, but I dream of how it will be for me one day. Dressing up in big tulle skirts with pointy heels, riding around the Eiffel Tower on my vespa, shopping until I drop... ahhhh the life! Until that dream comes true, I shall enjoy my beret-wearing days, heyyyyy!

And now, I'm off to pick up my family from the airport! Have a splendid morning, day, and evening... because I sho will!! Happy first day of November!!
What are your fall key pieces??
